Title : Wind Direction Dependent Vertical Wind Shear and Surface Roughness Parameterization in Two different Coastal Environments

Abstract: Analysis Surface Boundary Layer parameters (SBL) of wind direction dependent vertical wind shear, surface roughness lengths and surface layer wind conditions has been carried out at a coastal and an urban coastal site for the different wind flow regime. The analysis is carried out from the profile of meteorological data collected from 50m towers at Satayabhma University and Ediyur, Kalpakkam sites during the year 2013. Vertical exchange of heat, moisture, and momentum at the earth's surface strongly depends on the turbulence generated by surface roughness and topography. The differential response of the near coastal and inland urban site SBL parameters (wind shear, roughness length, etc.) was examined as a function of wind direction. Site specific surface roughness parameter can be estimated; derived experimentally or calculated using measured data for roughness parameterization studies.

It further analyzes the effectiveness of such practices in light of industrialization drives, access to finance, and the historical economic context of Rajasthan. The study concludes with the identification of gaps, lessons, and future avenues for strengthening risk management in the state's industrial sector.

The species is predominantly found in stony, rocky terrains, and riverine areas with moderate rainfall (>40 cm annually). The tree's distribution correlates strongly with altitude, soil type, and microclimatic conditions within the district.

Title : Reviving Traditional Herbal Practices for Rural Health and Economy in Shekhawati Region, Rajasthan

Abstract: Traditional herbal medicine forms the backbone of rural healthcare and economy in the semi-arid Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. This paper explores the ethnobotanical heritage, the socio-economic role of herbal practices, causes behind their decline, and strategies for revival. Drawing upon literature and surveys before 2015, the study finds that herbal practices are deeply linked to cultural identity and local biodiversity. However, factors such as modernization, habitat loss, and erosion of traditional knowledge have led to their underutilization. Reviving these practices through documentation, sustainable harvesting, integration with modern healthcare, and community participation can enhance rural health and provide new avenues for economic empowerment.
